Local Area

Olu Deniz:

Olu Deniz and Belcekis beach are the nearest beaches to the Hotel 600m below the plateau of Hisaronu and Ovacik. It is a steep 10-15 minute ride down to the beach front on the "Dolmus" - local mini-bus service. It probably the most famous Beach in Turkey and is always featured in articles about the coastal regions. It has a beautiful, relatively unspoiled pebble beach leading round to the famous "Blue Lagoon". The Lagoon is popular with families as there is a gentle slope down into the sea on the inland side, whereas the Belcekis beach is great for water sports and stronger swimmers. There are also a good selection of bars, restaurants and a couple of NightClubs on the main beach front.

Hisaronu & Ovacik:

Most of the hotels, bars and restaurants are found on the cool plateau of Hisaronu and Ovacik, much cooler even in the baking summer months.  There is a great variety of cuisine from traditional Turkish to Thai food at very reasonable prices. In the evening things liven up along the main street with a number of bars and one or two Clubs open until the early hours. All the hotels in the area are on a low scale being no more than 2-3 storeys - this ensures that all hotels have beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and there is a small scale, traditional feel to the area with great facilities for any kind of holiday. This makes it an ideal place for Families, couples and people on special interest holidays.

Fethiye:

Fethiye is the local Harbour town with a wide range of shops, more traditional Turkish and Seafood restaurants, Bars and a large market. It also boasts its own Amphitheatre - used in summer for open air concerts and Lycian Rock Tombs. The popular 12 island boat trip departs daily from the harbour front, on double decker boats with plenty of room for sunbathing or sitting at the tables below in the shade. Many people take advantage of the opportunity to charter a "Gulet" cruise for a few days and travel some of the way along the "Blue Cruise" favoured in yachting circles.

Calis:

Calis is a short "Dolmus boat" ride from Fethiye harbour across to a narrow sandy beach. It is a pleasant beach with a gentle slope safe for families and with an advantage of being more sandy than the more picturesque Olu Deniz. Restaurants along the beach front tend to be a little more pricey, but plenty to choose from.

Local Hotel Information:

The hotel is a 15 min walk from the centre of the resort, where you will find a choice of more than 100 Bars, Shops and Restaurants.
A bus goes right past the hotel every 10-15 min either to the beach, resort centre or Fethiye- for the harbour and market, and costs 50-70p.
It takes approx. 15 min by dolmus (local mini-bus), to get to the beach or Fethiye and about 5 min to get to the heart of the resort centre. The buses are very easy to catch as you simply put out your hand if you want them to stop, or the name of the hotel if you want them to get off! They run along the road outside the hotel and it's across the road for the beach and resort centre, or just outside the entrance to go down to Fethiye.
Taxis are also cheap and easy to catch.
